This VMAT plan consists of five (5) arcs with collimators spaced 30 degrees apart (300, 330 -skipping 0- 30, 60, 90). Due to the large fraction size, additional arcs have minimal to no impact on treatment delivery time for this case. An optimization PTV was created to account for the desired dose gradient surrounding the spinal canal and the max dose constraint to the esophagus. This plan was submitted for this plan study and was 4th overall. The highest scoring plan (also on HDMLC) used controversial 90degree couch with anterior arcs and scored .3 points higher.
